A graduate from Cambridge University, a top investment banker with Deutsche Bank and HSBC, and Special Advisor to the Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2008-10 on financial stability – Geoffrey worked for HM Treasury for eight years where he was also CEO of Infrastructure UK under the Coalition Government.

Following his recent appearance in the BBC documentary ‘The Bank that Broke Britain’, we talk to Geoffrey about whether belief in God today is rational, and why, as a professional, he considers he needs God.

The Fashion Executive

As Chief Operating Officer of the British Fashion Council, Simon Ward was once described as “the brains behind London Fashion Week”. Starting out in the menswear department at Selfridges, Simon later joined the British Fashion Council in 1986.

He presents a weekly show on Premier Radio and has published a number of books about faith and self-worth. Throughout his evening at Danbury Mission, Simon will explore issues of fashion and identity, the pressure of the beauty industry and how Christianity has impacted his life.

The Hip Hop Producer

What does religion have to say in a modern day and age? We ask Dave Walker (aka Imperial) why he believes his Christian faith is a game changer in the 21st century.

Signed to US label, Illect Recordings, Dave Walker works as a renowned remixer and producer. Having worked on remixes with the likes of Marc7 (Jurassic 5), Tommy Boy and Chuck D (Public Enemy), Dave now enjoys a career producing music for EMI, Warner, and Universal, and has had his work featured on the BBC, Sky and Channel 4.

The BBC Comedy Writer

James Cary has twenty years’ experience writing comedy for the BBC, from hits like Miranda and My Family, to CBeebies shows like Something Special and Gigglebiz, and even an edgy sitcom about a bomb disposal unit. He also has a number of books, podcasts and radio shows under his belt including ‘Think the Unthinkable’, ‘Hut 33’, and ‘The Sacred Art of Joking’.

During his evening at Danbury Mission James will explain why we need faith and how the Bible is actually way funnier than it first appears.
